Makunouchi Line-up

I did one of these last year, but there've been some changes to the roster, so I'm gonna do another (shorter) one this year just so anyone who's reading can follow along.

Here's the format:

Name in romaji (Name in kanji) : Literal meaning of kanji, My nickname (if any)

NB: All nicknames, even seemingly disparaging ones, are meant with love. Except for Rohou; He's a bastard.

So without further ado, here is the Makunouchi Roster (in order of rank)

Both good questions! The kanji for female pearl diver (only applies to old-fashioned skin-diving BTW) are 海女, and they literally mean 'ocean woman'.

Rohou's a bastard because he was suspended from sumo for attacking photgraphers after a heated match in which he behaved badly. He also vented his frustration by breaking a window.

That's why his other nickname is 'The Mad Russian' and 'The Ugly One' is just 'cause he's so freakin' ugly.

Actually Ama means "peaceful horse" Kohei means
"fairness"

Dunno whether it describes the guy ~shrug~
