Pepsi + Cucumber = Suprisingly Yummy
I saw this drink a few weeks ago one of my favorite link sites, 'A Welsh View' and at first I thought it was a joke. But I was in Kaibara on Tuesday and the drinks case at Lawson was full of 'em so I decided to take the plunge. Let me tell you, it was pretty frickin' weird, but good; sort of a sweet, fizzy, salad-y kind of a taste.
As advertised it really IS Pepsi + Cucumber, the taste of which really needs to be experienced to be understood, but let me quote the bottle to you anyway.
CUCUMBER(キューカンバー)とは英語でキュウリのこと。コーラとキュウリ、驚きのコンビネーションの爽やかなコーラ!
Cucumber' is the English word for 'kyuuri'. Cola and Cucumber: A suprising combination makes for a refreshing cola!
Try it!

i thought it was pretty good too.
but it looks like windshield wiper fluid.
sounds like you're doing awesome things in Japan. i found your page linked to the earlham website!
annie
Annie? Like Annie Katz? Oh my God, How the heck are you? I'm still having a great time over here, started my own business and am about to get married soon.
Speaking of Earlham though, Tres was just here to visit and he stayed with me for 2 days on his whirlwind tour of the Kansai.
What have you been up to?
you're getting married! Congratulations!!
so you're planning to be here in Japan for awhile then?
it's hard to believe it's been 7 years!
After Earlham, i was in Madison Wisconsin, working with Special Ed kids. Then went backpacking in New Zealand, Australia, and S.E. Asia for a year and a half.
somehow ended up back in Japan. eikaiwa in Chiba, ALT in Nagano, and now i'm in Kichijoji (Tokyo) working part time at a cute private elementary and jr high school.
You're in Tokyo now? Cool we should meet up some time!
I was an ALT in Iwate for 2 years, went back to the States for a bit, worked at NOVA for 4 years then opened my own school this March.
I really love the town I live in now and I have a great house. I'm planning to get my permenant resident visa next time I have to renew. I'm probably going to stay here for the forseeable future, get a dog, raise a couple of rug-rats, the whole nine yards.
Good Luck with the permanent resident visa! i'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 3 year visa when i renew this next time.
Definitely let me know if you're in Tokyo. And I'll let you know if I have any Kansai plans on the horizon. (summer holiday is the U.S. and Europe)
do you have a mixi acct? i feel silly conversing on your website. or email me. i'm still using the same username as my earlham email, but @gmail.com
I have mixi: 米喜子
and MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/becki_in_sanda
but I have to admit I don't remember how the Earlham addresses were set up. (;~_~)
