Yukata Bijin

So, yesterday was the fireworks portion of the Sanda festival and Bec and I got dressed up in our yukata and went down to watch them with Erica. For a little rinky-dink festival in the middle of nowhere, Sanda has some pretty sweet fireworks. They lasted from 8:00 to 8:45 and there were all kinds of super-cool ones, like smiley-faces, fish and Saturns. I think Japanese fireworks displays have spoiled me for life.

On another note, don't Bec and I look lovely in our yukatas, calculating the value of this cucumber?

We put them on ourselves after I had a quick lesson from one of my students, the always helpful Mrs. Ohnishi. (And here I really have to give a shout-out to Mrs. Ohnishi. She is totally awesome; besides giving me yukata lessons she also planted some wonderful cucumbers and tomatos in our garden for us and she's brought the school two new students as well!)

And finally, I'm going to the States the day after tomorrow! Yeah! Double Yeah!

Goog Afternooner!
